For 2024, Medicare has made great changes to the General Care Management code G0511 for Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). CMS expanded the codes that encompass the general care management code G0511 to make it more comprehensive, including adding Remote Patient Monitoring. Also, G0511 can now be billed for multiple instances in a month.
In past years, G0511 covered services for Chronic Care Management, Principal Care Management, Behavioral Health Integration, and Chronic Pain Management. New in 2024, G0511 now covers services for Remote Patient Monitoring, Remote Therapeutic Monitoring, and the new programs Community Health Integration and Principal Illness Navigation.
